Shipping Container Coffee Shop Conversion – Canary Wharf, London
Commissioned by an existing customer as part of their business expansion, this project involved transforming an 8ft x 10ft shipping container into a fully equipped, bespoke coffee shop for a new location in Canary Wharf, London.
We managed the project from start to finish, beginning with sourcing and purchasing the shipping container on our client’s behalf, before completing the full conversion, fit-out, equipment installation, branding and final delivery to site.
A Complete Bespoke Coffee Shop Conversion
The container was designed around the client’s operational requirements, creating a compact but highly functional commercial coffee shop capable of operating without a mains water supply.
Our conversion and fit-out included:
- Fabrication of the main entrance with double doors and a large lift-up serving hatch
- Separate side service hatch
- Two bespoke external serving shelves
- Full exterior preparation and painting in the client’s custom RAL colour, using specialist shipping-container paint engineered for long-term durability
- Bespoke resin worktops and cabinetry
- Custom internal wall lining and decorative panelling
- 63AMP mains electrical hook-up
- Full electrical installation with EICR certification
- Instant hot-water tap
- Commercial 3-group espresso coffee machine
- Two commercial coffee grinders
- Three refrigerators
- Two freezers
- Commercial panini press
- Bespoke internal shelving
- Extra-large fresh-water tank and pumped water system, allowing the coffee shop to operate where no mains water connection is available
- Integrated waste-water system
- Internal and external lighting
- Full exterior branding
From Shipping Container to Working Coffee Shop
Once the conversion was complete, we also managed delivery to Canary Wharf, London, including the final crane lift and positioning of the finished coffee shop on site.
The result is a completely self-contained, professionally equipped shipping container café, designed to maximise the available space while providing everything required for a busy commercial coffee operation.
